डॉ. सुनीता ठाकुर का जन्म 25 जून 1968 को हुआ। उन्होंने हिन्दी विषय में एम.ए. तथा पीएच.डी. की उपाधि प्राप्त की है। वर्तमान में वे स्वतंत्र लेखन के साथ-साथ नारीवाद और महिला मुद्दों की काउन्सलर एवं विशेषज्ञ के रूप में कार्य कर रही हैं। उनकी रचनाएँ विभिन्न राष्ट्रीय और सामाजिक पत्र-पत्रिकाओं तथा वेब साहित्य पत्रिकाओं में प्रकाशित होती रही हैं। उनके काव्य संग्रहों में तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय काव्य (1991), क्षितिज की धूप में (2000) और दो पल साथ साथ (2013) शामिल हैं। आलोचना के क्षेत्र में उन्होंने हिमांशु जोशी का कहानी साहित्य (1994), व्यावहारिक हिन्दी भाषा (1998) और नागार्जुन के साहित्य में अन्तः संबंध (1999) जैसी कृतियाँ लिखी हैं। विमर्श के क्षेत्र में उनकी पुस्तकें पितृसत्ता बदलते समय के संदर्भ (2024), स्त्री यौनिकता के सामाजिक संदर्भ (2025) और विक्रमी और बेताली (2025) प्रकाशित हुई हैं। उनकी आगामी पुस्तक विधान संविधान और महिलाएं 20 मार्च 2026 को प्रकाशित होने वाली है।
