Bhagat Singh was one of India’s most courageous and influential revolutionary freedom fighters, known for his fearless resistance against British colonial rule. Born in 1907, he became a symbol of youth power, patriotism, and sacrifice at a very young age. Deeply inspired by revolutionary ideas and global movements, he believed that true freedom required not just political independence but also social justice. He is best remembered for his role in the Lahore Conspiracy Case and for avenging the death of Lala Lajpat Rai by targeting British officer John Saunders. Bhagat Singh and his associates also threw non-lethal bombs in the Central Legislative Assembly to protest oppressive laws, intentionally courting arrest to use the trial as a platform to spread their message. Despite facing execution at the age of just 23, his writings, ideology, and unwavering courage continue to inspire generations. Bhagat Singh remains a timeless icon of resistance, intellectual bravery, and the spirit of revolution in India.

(Why I am an Atheist)

A portrait of man with an acute scholarly mind and a cheerful socialist heart.
